Today I'm wearing this gorgeous cold shoulder sweater from Venus. You can find it HERE. I paired it with a suede wrap front red skirt. It's sold out but I linked some beautiful ones on the scroll below. Most people would consider pairing these two colors together a fashion risk and I would agree. You really have to find a balance with this color combo and for me it's about the different textures and hues you choose.
This is one of those color combinations that you absolutely can't force. It just has to be. It's got to feel easy. If it doesn't, it's likely to be a miss. I prefer softer tones with this. It keeps it from looking like a Valentines day outfit. The same goes for choosing texture and accessories. Since neither my skirt or sweater are delicate, I choose a shoe that would not only pull together the tones, but would also balance out the strong structure of the look.
What are your thoughts on pink and red? How do you style them and I'd also love to know how your Halloween was? Did you guys eat candy for breakfast this morning? I always have at least one piece of my kids the morning after Halloween. I feel like it's my right as an adult and parent. ;) I'm a firm believer in candy tax!
Have a beautiful day.
